GERSTEL Headspace ChemSensor Systems

Unlike traditional electronic noses that are based on solid-state sensors, the GERSTEL ChemSensor Systems use proven quadrupole mass-spectrometer technology.

Why Use a GERSTEL Headspace ChemSensor

Benefits:

  • The ChemSensor Systems is unaffected by moisture in the sample, ambient humidity, or ambient temperature fluctuations. They are also immune to sensor poisoning.
  • Quadrupole technology enables customized screening and classification for multiple applications on the same system.
  • The GERSTEL-ChemSensor Systems can ignore ions associated with dominant sample components - such as alcohol in wines or acetic acid in salad dressings - and model only the critical factors that differentiate samples.
  • Ions in a suspect sample that are not present in a good sample can be monitored in subsequent analyses using GC/MS. This can reduce troubleshooting time substantially and puts you steps ahead of e-noses that do not have this correlation capability.

Exclusively from GERSTEL

The GERSTEL Headspace ChemSensor (HS/MS) and the GERSTEL Headspace/GC ChemSensor System (HS/GC/MS) are both offered exclusively from GERSTEL. Analysis methods are developed together with the client to assure that their specific needs are met.

Features

  • Color-coded pass/fail answers within four minutes. Operators can make quick, confident decisions simply by looking at the block of colors.
  • Quadrupole technology, which is rugged, stable, and reliable. This technology is not affected by sample or environmental factors such as humidity, temperature fluctuations, and poisoning. And it enables customized screening and classification for multiple applications on the same system.
  • The ability to ignore dominant components, such as alcohol in wines, and model only the critical components that differentiate samples
  • The ability to identify ions in a suspect sample that are not present in a good sample
  • Agilent Technologies` latest mass spectrometer, the 5973N MSD
  • A drop-down menu for access to all MSD details, for the knowledgeable analyst
  • System training in only a few hours, rather than days
  • Pattern recognition using Infometrix‘ proven Pirouette software
  • Custom reporting
