The DFG(Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft or German Research Council) S19 method for GPC Sample Cleanup of Foods prior to GC or GCMS analysis.

The designation DFG S19 describes a chemical analytical method which has developed into a European standard. It has been included in the §35 Collection of Methods of the Foodstuffs and Commodities Act under the number L 00.00-34.
This method permits the analysis of more than 270 pesticides in vegetable foodstuffs. Due to the large number of compounds to be proven, it is also called a multi-method.

  • 1979 First publication of the “Specht” Method
  • 1991 Original DFG(Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) S19 method
  • 1998 CEN confirmed modified DFG S19 as European method DIN EN 12393-1/2/3
    Modified DFG S19 became part of the §35 according to the German Food and Commodities Act
  • 1999 Publication of the extended and revised L-00.00.34 as official method
    “Modular Multiple Analytical Method for the Determination of Pesticide Residues in Foodstuffs“
