News July 2005: First GERSTEL 2D-Prep Dual GC Installed
at Uni of Wollongong
In July, the Faculty of Science at the University of Wollongong
had installed the first GERSTEL Two Dimensional Preparative Gas
Chromatography system in Australia.
Professor Allan Chivas from
the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences,
selected the GERSTEL/Agilent Technologies system based on US based
colleagues experiences with a similar system. The system will
be used to separate complex mixtures by the two dimensional Gas
Chromatographs and then the collection of isolated species via
repetitive injections and use of the GERSTEL Preparative Fraction
Collector prior to Radiocarbon Analysis.
